Monday, a report by Statistics Iceland said the central government deficit stood at 1.1% of GDP in the third quarter, compared to a government surplus of 1.3% last year.
In the first nine months of the year, the financial balance of the central government was in a deficit of 0.2% of GDP compared to a surplus of 4% of GDP in the same period last year.
The financial balance of the central government and the social security funds was in a deficit by ISK 11 billion in the third quarter compared to a surplus of ISK 16 billion in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the finance of the local governments was in a deficit by ISK 3.9 billion in the third quarter.
