2008.12.1601:08:00UTC+00European Economics Preview: UK, French Consumer Price Inflation Forecast To Slow

Tuesday, the statistical reports due from major European economies include UK and French consumer price inflation, which are expected to ease in November.

The EU25 mew car registrations report for November is due at 2.00am ET. New car registrations had declined 14.5% in October. At the same time, the Federal Statistical Office is scheduled to report German manufacturing employment details for October.

At 2.45am ET, the statistical office INSEE is slated to release the French November CPI data. Annual inflation is expected to slow to 1.7% in November from 2.7% in the prior month. Meanwhile, the HICP is forecast to rise 2% year-on-year, slower than the 3% increase seen in October.

The results of the Flash Purchasing Managers' Index survey for both manufacturing and service sector of major European economies are expected today. The first one to hit the wires is the Flash French PMI. Thereafter, flash PMI reports are due from Germany and Eurozone.

At 3.15am ET, the Swiss industrial production, due from the Federal Statistical Office is predicted to fall 2.3% annually in the third quarter, following prior quarter's 8.9% annual growth.

The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs is set to release Swiss economic forecasts at 4.00am ET.

At 4.30am ET, the Office for National Statistics is set to issue the UK consumer price data. Annual inflation is expected to slow to 3.9% in November from 4.5% in October. Month-on-month, consumer prices are predicted to fall 0.3% in November.

Thereafter, the employment details are due from Eurozone. Employment in the EU15 had increased 0.2% sequentially in the second quarter and climbed 1.2% on a yearly basis.
