Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, has finally agreed to begin the transition of power to President-elect Joe Biden. The General Service Administration has recently shared this long-awaited news with the public. Right after the presidential race had finished, Trump showed no signs of conceding and threatened to challenge the election results in the US Supreme Court. He said the election was “rigged” and accused everyone of voter fraud, without offering evidence. However, the outcome was clear - this was the end of Trump’s political career. Donald Trump has joined those American presidents who stayed in office only for one term. Mr. Trump posted on Twitter, “Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good fight, and I believe we will prevail!” He then added, “in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same." From now on, Trump will be able to continue his fight only on Twitter as he has no more power over the White House. “This is probably the closest thing to a concession that President Trump could issue,” Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said about Trump's tweet. Michigan was the latest state to certify its election results. Recently, it has confirmed Biden’s victory. This will make it even more difficult for Trump to overturn the election results.
