Elon Musk reveals name of BTC creator

Bitcoin has been steadily rising for years, having become one of the most expensive assets. However, nobody really knows who is behind the pseudonym - Satoshi Nakamoto. Nakamoto mined the first blockchain of bitcoin and published the whitepaper for the digital currency. Yet, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, believes he has cracked this mystery.

Speaking on the Lex Fridman podcast, the entrepreneur summed up the results of 2021. He also touched upon the topic of cryptocurrencies. The podcast host joked that Musk himself was rumored to be the creator of bitcoin. Tech maverick Musk denied this claim and unexpectedly revealed the name of the potential creator. He named computer scientist Nick Szabo as BTC creator. Musk assumes that he has been the brains behind the birth of the world's first digital asset. "You can look at the evolution of ideas before the launch of bitcoin and see who wrote about those ideas. He claims not to be Nakamoto, but I'm not sure that's neither here nor there. But he seems to be the one more responsible for the ideas behind bitcoin than anyone else", Musk pointed out.

Earlier, former SpaceX and Tesla employee Sahil Gupta speculated that Elon Musk is Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of bitcoin. In December, he published another post where he recalled a telephone conversation with Sam Teller, the former chief of staff at Tesla. After Gupta asked Teller whether or not Musk is Satoshi, he gave an evasive reply. "There was silence for 15 seconds. Then Teller said, "Well, what can I say? Not a paraphrase. Actual words," Gupta said. Szabo also pointed out that he is not behind the identity of Nakamoto. "I'm afraid you got it wrong, doxing me as Satoshi, but I'm used to it."
