Figures from China's National Bureau of Statistics showed on Thursday that China's consumer prices increased 0.8 percent on year in February.
The result fell short of the 1.7 percent increase forecasts of economists, and lower from 2.5 percent seen in January.
The statistics bureau added that producers' prices soared 7.8 percent on year, beating market forecasts for 7.7 percent, up from 6.9 percent in the previous month.
