Brazil's retail sales increased for a third straight month in June and at a faster pace, figures from the statistical office IBGE showed Tuesday.
Retail sales rose 1.2 percent from May, when they grew a revised 0.2 percent. In April, sales increased 1.1 percent.
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales grew 3 percent following 2.6 percent increase in the previous month.
Broad retail sales, which includes sales of automobiles and building material, grew 2.5 percent from May, when they fell 0.2 percent.
Compared to a year ago, broad retail sales increased 4.4 percent after a 4.9 percent growth in May and a 0.5 percent decline in April.
