At 4:30 am ET Friday, the Office for National Statistics is set to release UK final GDP data. Economists expect GDP to grow 0.4 percent sequentially, in line with the preliminary estimate.
Ahead of the data, the pound traded mixed against its major rivals. While the pound rose against the greenback and the franc, it fell against the yen and the euro.
The pound was worth 1.3379 against the greenback, 151.64 against the yen, 1.3241 against the franc and 0.8865 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
