India's consumer price inflation slowed in February, data from the Central Statistics Office showed Monday.
Consumer price inflation slowed to 4.44 percent in February from 5.07 percent in January. Inflation was also below the expected 4.7 percent. Nonetheless, the rate was faster than the 3.65 percent registered in February 2017.
Similarly, food price inflation came in at 3.26 percent, slower than the 4.70 percent seen a month ago.
Month-on-month, consumer prices dropped 0.37 percent, data showed.
