At 4.30 am ET Wednesday, IHS Markit releases UK factory PMI data. The index is expected to drop to 54.2 in July from 54.4 a month ago.
Ahead of the data, the pound advanced against its major counterparts.
The pound was worth 1.3115 against the greenback, 146.93 against the yen, 1.3017 against the franc and 0.8909 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
