Taiwan's industrial production growth accelerated at a faster-than-expected pace in July, after easing in the previous two months, preliminary figures from the Ministry of Economic Affairs showed Thursday.
Industrial production climbed 4.43 percent year-over-year in July, well above the 0.51 percent rise in June. That was above the expected increase of 3.6 percent.
Among sectors, manufacturing production advanced 5.01 percent annually in July, while mining and quarrying output declined by 6.06 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 0.62 percent from June, when it fell by 2.58 percent.
