At 2:00 am ET Wednesday, German GfK consumer confidence index for September is due. Ahead of the data, the euro dropped against its major rivals.

The euro was worth 129.78 against the yen, 1.1407 against the franc, 0.9082 against the pound and 1.1676 against the greenback at 1:55 am ET.
