At 8:30 am ET Friday, the Labor Department will release U.S. jobs data for August. The economy is expected to have added 195,000 jobs last month, following an addition of 157,000 jobs in July.
Ahead of the data, the greenback held steady against its major counterparts.
The greenback was worth 110.88 against the yen, 0.9658 against the franc, 1.1616 against the euro and 1.3008 against the pound as of 8:25 am ET.
