At 5.00 am ET Tuesday, Germany's ZEW economic sentiment survey results are due. The expectations index is forecast to rise to -13.5 in September from -13.7 in August.
Ahead of the data, the euro traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the euro rose against the pound, it held steady against the rest of major counterparts.
The euro was worth 1.1616 against the greenback, 129.41 against the yen, 1.1314 against the franc and 0.8904 against the pound as of 4:55 am ET.
