The Australian dollar drifted higher against its major counterparts in pre-European deals on Wednesday.

The aussie rose to weekly highs of 0.7131 against the greenback and 0.9222 against the loonie, from its early lows of 0.7098 and 0.9189, respectively.

The aussie climbed to a 5-day high of 80.60 against the yen and a 6-day high of 1.6147 against the euro, reversing from its early lows of 80.19 and 1.6183, respectively.

Reversing from an early low of 1.0957 against the kiwi, the aussie edged up to 1.0986.

The next possible resistance for the aussie is seen around 0.72 against the greenback, 82.00 against the yen, 1.60 against the euro, 0.93 against the loonie and 1.11 against the kiwi.
