Romania's industrial production increased in August, albeit at a slower pace, figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Friday.
Industrial production advanced a seasonally and working-day adjusted 3.9 percent year-on-year in August, after a 4.0 percent increase in July.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production advanced 0.4 percent, following a 3 percent fall in the previous month.
Annual growth in industrial output was driven by a 4.5 percent increase in manufacturing and 4.3 percent rise in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. Mining and quarrying output shrunk 3.1 percent.
Industrial production dropped 9.1 percent monthly on an unadjusted basis in August after falling 0.6 percent in July.
