The U.K. trade data, industrial production, construction output and GDP data - all for January are due at 5:30 am ET Tuesday. Ahead of these data, the pound traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the pound held steady against the yen, it retreated against the rest of major counterparts.
The pound was worth 1.3214 against the greenback, 147.27 against the yen, 0.8535 against the euro and 1.3325 against the franc as of 5:25 am ET.
