The U.K. trade data, industrial production, construction output and GDP data - all for January have been released at 5:30 am ET Tuesday. Following these data, the pound slipped against its major counterparts.
The pound was trading at 1.3210 against the greenback, 147.18 against the yen, 0.8540 against the euro and 1.3316 against the franc around 5:33 am ET.
