New Zealand's business confidence deteriorated in March, business outlook survey from ANZ showed Thursday.
The headline business confidence index showed a balance of minus 38 for March, meaning a net 38 percent of respondents expect general business conditions to weaken in the year ahead.
In February, the score was minus 30.9.
The survey showed that a net 6 percent of respondents expect a lift in their activity in the coming months.
In March, the service sector firms were the most optimistic, while the retail industry was the least confident.
Expectations on investment, employment, profit, credit, construction and export eased, while those on pricing improved slightly.
