Poland's consumer price inflation rose for the third straight month in April, data from the Central Statistical Office showed on Wednesday.

The consumer price index grew 2.2 percent year-on-year in April, following a 1.7 percent rise in March.

Prices of transportation rose 4.8 percent annually in April. Restaurants and hotels prices increased 3.8 percent and that of food and non-alcoholic beverages grew by 3.3 percent.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.1 percent in April, after a 0.3 percent increase in the preceding month.
