Following the release of Canada retail sales for March at 8:30 am Wednesday, the loonie climbed against its major rivals.
The loonie was trading at 82.48 against the yen, 0.9209 against the aussie, 1.4938 against the euro and 1.3370 against the greenback around 8:31 am ET.
