As expected, the Bank of England maintained key rate at 0.75 percent and quantitative easing at GBP 435 billion. The pound pulled back against its major counterparts after the decision.
The pound was trading at 1.2693 against the greenback, 136.82 against the yen, 1.2513 against the franc and 0.8907 against the euro around 7:02 am ET.
