Public sector finance data from the UK is due on Friday, headlining a light day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, Destatis is scheduled to issue Germany's producer prices for June. Economists forecast prices to fall 0.1 percent on month and to rise 1.5 percent annually.

At 4.00 am ET, the European Central Bank publishes euro area current account data for May. The current account surplus had decreased to EUR 20.905 billion in April from EUR 24.680 billion in March.

In the meantime, Poland's retail sales data is due. Economists forecast sales to climb 6 percent on year in June following a 7.3 percent rise in May.

At 4.30 am ET, the Office for National Statistics publishes UK public sector finance data. The budget deficit is forecast to narrow to GBP 3.9 billion in June from GBP 5.1 billion in May.

At 5.00 am ET, the Bank of Italy is slated to release current account data for May.
