The U.S. consumer price index for July will be released at 8:30 am ET Tuesday. Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback held steady against the yen, it fell against the rest of major counterparts.
The greenback was worth 1.1219 against the euro, 105.17 against the yen, 0.9672 against the franc and 1.2087 against the pound at 8:25 am ET.
