IHS Markit is set to issue Eurozone composite PMI data at 4:00 am ET Thursday. The index is expected to fall to 51.2 in August from 51.5 in July.
The euro traded mixed against its major counterparts before the data. While the euro retreated against the pound, it rose against the rest of major rivals.
The euro was worth 118.16 against the yen, 1.0909 against the franc, 0.9147 against the pound and 1.1102 against the greenback at 3:55 am ET.
