At 4.30 am ET Wednesday, the UK Markit/CIPS final composite PMI is due. Economists forecast the index score to match the flash estimate of 48.5 in November.
Ahead of the data, the pound strengthened against its major rivals.
The pound was worth 1.3045 against the greenback, 141.80 against the yen, 1.2902 against the franc and 0.8490 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
