At 2.00 am ET Friday, the Office for National Statistics has published UK retail and government borrowing figures for April. After the data, the pound changed little against its major counterparts.
The pound was trading at 1.2218 against the greenback, 131.27 against the yen, 0.8947 against the euro and 1.1862 against the franc around 2:05 am ET.
