As expected, the Bank of England maintained interest rate at 0.10 percent and expanded asset purchase program to GBP 895 billion. The pound climbed against its major rivals after the decision.
The pound was trading at 1.2964 against the greenback, 135.35 against the yen, 1.1821 against the franc and 0.9046 against the euro around 2:03 am ET.
