At 4.00 am ET Friday, IHS Markit publishes Eurozone composite PMI data for January. Economists forecast the composite index to fall to 47.6 from 49.1 in the previous month.
Ahead of the data, the euro firmed against its major rivals.
The euro was worth 126.19 against the yen, 1.0774 against the franc, 0.8897 against the pound and 1.2178 against the greenback at 3:55 am ET.
