At 4.30 am ET Friday, UK CIPS/Markit composite output survey data is due. The flash composite PMI is seen unchanged at 50.7 in January compared to 50.4 a month ago.
The pound slipped against its major rivals before the data.
The pound was worth 141.69 against the yen, 1.2099 against the franc, 1.3668 against the greenback and 0.8904 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
