The U.S. durable goods orders for September are due at 8:30 am ET Wednesday. The greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts before the data. While it fell against the euro and the franc, it held steady against the pound and the yen.
The greenback was worth 113.73 against the yen, 1.1621 against the euro, 1.3749 against the pound and 0.9180 against the franc at 8:25 am ET.
