Finland's jobless rate declined in October, figures from Statistics Finland showed on Tuesday.

The unemployment rate for the 15 to 74 age group fell to 6.0 percent in October from 7.4 percent in the same month last year. In September, jobless rate was 7.0 percent.

The number of unemployed persons decreased to 164,000 in October from 201,000 in the last year.

The employment rate rose to 72.3 percent in October from 70.9 percent in the same month last year. The number of employed persons grew by 65,000 from a year ago to 2.57 million.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, unemployment rate fell to 7.1 percent in October from 7.3 percent in September.
