China said a telephone conversation took place between Chinese Vice President Liu He and US trade representatives Lighthizer and Finance Minister Mnuchin. The parties agreed to hold high-level trade negotiations in early October. Preliminary negotiations will be held in September to prepare the terms of the agreement.
