Asian stocks traded mixed on Friday as technology shares glided US equities lower and as the Bank of Japan is slated to present its latest policy outlook.

US stocks inched down as tech stocks including Apple closed down lower as these companies face new pressure.

Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.53%. MSCI's Asia Pacific index was slightly changed. Hang Seng index rose 0.36%, but Shanghai and Shenzhen stocks dropped 0.25% and 0.235%, respectively. South Korea's Kospi tumbled 0.07%, but the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.26%.

The Bank of Japan retained its policy and gave a more optimistic view on private consumption, as well as other economies.

A Reuters report, citing people privy to the matter, said Takata could declare bankruptcy next week. It is said the company is attempting to close an agreement with Key Safety Systems.
