In the second quarter of 2025, Georgia's industrial production experienced a significant surge, increasing by 9.3% compared to the same period the previous year. This growth, which is the fastest since the third quarter of 2024, is a noteworthy acceleration from the 2.4% rise observed in the first quarter. The uptick was primarily driven by a recovery in manufacturing output, which grew by 7.6% after a 0.2% decline in Q1. Additionally, the sectors of electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply rebounded with a 4.2% increase, overturning the previous quarter's 4.1% contraction. The water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities also saw a substantial rise of 10.4%, up from 6.6% in the first quarter. However, the expansion in mining and quarrying activities slowed significantly to 34.9%, down from 48.9% the previous quarter. On a quarterly basis, industrial output experienced a robust recovery, leaping 15.7% after a 6.5% decline in the preceding quarter.
