Retail sales in Chile experienced a 4.5% year-over-year increase in December 2025, which marks the slowest expansion in the past eight months, following a revised increase of 5.8% in November. The key sectors driving this growth include electronics, household equipment, and technology products with a 6.7% rise, clothing, footwear, and accessories at 6.4%, and other assorted consumer goods registering a 6.1% growth. The overall growth for the year amounted to 5.4%. When adjusted for seasonal variations, retail sales witnessed a 4.8% year-over-year rise and a 0.2% increase compared to the previous month, effectively reversing a prior 0.3% decline.
