Industrial production in the Czech Republic rose by 1.3% year-on-year in February 2026, slowing from a downwardly revised 2.7% increase in January and falling slightly short of the 1.5% growth expected by analysts. Manufacturing output grew by 2.4%, up from 2.2% in the previous month. The largest positive contributions came from fabricated metal products (up 8.5% vs 5.3% in January) and the automotive industry (up 15.1% vs 42%).

Output of computer, electronic, and optical products increased by 14.9%, rebounding from a 7.5% decline a year earlier, with the strong rate partly reflecting a low base of comparison. By contrast, production in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector fell by 6.7%, after a 7% rise in January, mainly due to planned shutdowns at several power plants. The mining and quarrying sector remained in contraction, with output down 6% compared with a 2% decline previously.

On a month-on-month basis, industrial production increased by 1.3% in February, following a 2.7% decline in January.
