The consumer confidence indicator in the Czech Republic declined to 106 in April 2026, down from 110.4 in March, reaching its lowest level since September 2025. The share of consumers who expect the country’s economic situation to deteriorate over the next twelve months rose significantly. In contrast, assessments of current financial conditions compared with a year earlier remained broadly unchanged. On a month‑to‑month basis, households’ expectations for an improvement in their financial situation over the coming year weakened. At the same time, the proportion of respondents who do not plan to make major purchases in the next twelve months was largely unchanged.
