Kazakhstan’s annual inflation rate eased to 9.3% in September 2026 from 9.8% in August, reaching its lowest level since January 2025.
Food price inflation slowed to 8.5% from 9.5% in August, largely reflecting more moderate increases in the prices of meat and poultry (10.2% vs 12.9%), sausages and meat products (13.2% vs 14.3%), and oils and fats (8.6% vs 9.6%).
Non-food inflation also eased, declining to 11.0% from 11.4%. A slower rise in petrol prices (10.1% vs 12.8%) more than offset a slightly faster increase in clothing prices (10.6% vs 10.2%).
Inflation for paid services remained unchanged at 8.9%. Within this category, housing and utilities inflation was stable at 6.3%. Price growth for housing maintenance and servicing slowed (5.2% vs 5.6%), while inflation for maintenance, repair, and security of residential premises edged up (13.3% vs 13.1%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.6%, the same pace as in each of the previous two months.
