Such a positive reaction of most market participants was caused by several factors. First of all, it is a mass vaccination program against the coronavirus infection. Secondly, the extended program of financial support in the US also boosts investors' sentiment. The package is likely to be adopted in the near future.
In the morning, STOXX Europe 600, the general index of large enterprises of the European region, advanced by 0.8% to a new level of 417.31 points. Companies in the mining sector became the leaders among all industries.
The UK FTSE 100 index rose by 1.41%. Germany's DAX index increased by 0.3%. France's CAC 40 index was up by 1.07%. Italy's FTSE MIB index jumped by 0.99%. Spain's IBEX 35 index gained 1.5% and became the leader of this morning's growth.
