At 4.30 am ET Friday, the Office for National Statistics publishes UK GDP data for the second quarter as well as industrial and construction output and foreign trade figures for June. Ahead of these reports, the pound dropped against its major rivals.
The pound was worth 141.39 against the yen, 1.2692 against the franc, 1.2756 against the greenback and 0.8975 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
