The deterioration in Eurozone consumer confidence in August was worse-than-expected, preliminary estimate from the European Commission showed Thursday.
The consumer confidence index dropped to -10 from -8.4 in July. Economists had forecast a score of -9.1.
The index declined for the third month in a row and the latest reading is the lowest since February, when it was -12.7.
Consumer sentiment in the EU also weakened with the index falling to -6.4 from -5.5 in July.
Final figures for the consumer confidence index will be released along with the economic sentiment data on August 28.
