As expected, the Bank of England kept interest rate at a record low of 0.50 percent and the asset purchase plan at GBP 375 billion. Following the decision, the pound traded mixed against the other major currencies. While the pound declined further against the greenback, it changed little against the franc, euro and the yen.
The pound was trading at 1.4121 against the greenback, 147.26 against the yen, 1.3636 against the franc and 0.7937 against the euro around 7:04 am ET.
