Statistics Canada releases Canada trade for July at 8:30 am ET Wednesday. The trade deficit is seen narrowing to C$3.3 billion from C$3.6 billion in June.
Ahead of the data, the loonie traded mixed against its major rivals. While the loonie rose against the yen, it held steady against the rest of major rivals.
The loonie was worth 87.84 against the yen, 1.2392 against the greenback, 1.4789 against the euro and 0.9883 against the aussie as of 8:25 am ET.
