Austria's consumer price inflation accelerated in September, data from Statistics Austria showed Tuesday.
Consumer prices climbed 2.4 percent year-over-year in September, faster than the 2.1 percent rise in August.
The pick-up in inflation was mainly driven by increased prices of foodstuffs, fuels, newspapers and magazines as well as accommodation services.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 1.0 percent in September.
The EU measure of inflation, or HICP, also increased at an accelerated pace of 2.6 percent annually in September, after a 2.1 percent gain in the preceding month. Month-on-month, the HICP rose 1.4 percent.
