At 4.30 am ET Tuesday, the Office for National Statistics releases UK consumer and producer prices for November. Inflation is forecast to remain unchanged at 3 percent.
Ahead of the data, the pound retreated from its early highs against its major rivals.
The pound was worth 1.3345 against the greenback, 1.3206 against the franc, 151.39 against the yen and 0.8829 against the euro as of 4:25 am ET.
