The manufacturing sector in South Korea continued to contract in June, albeit at a slower rate, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Monday with a manufacturing PMI score of 49.8.
That's up from 48.9 in May, although it remains beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion of contraction.
Individually, new orders declined for the fourth straight month, but export sales climbed at the fastest rate since October 2013.
Business confidence strengthened for the first time since January.
