The Labor Department's Producer Price Index for June will be published at 8.30 am ET Wednesday. The consensus is for 0.2 percent, down from 0.5 percent last month.
Ahead of the data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback fell against the euro and the franc, it held steady against the pound and the yen.
The greenback was worth 111.20 against the yen, 0.9932 against the franc, 1.3257 against the pound and 1.1730 against the euro as of 8:25 am ET.
