At 8:30 am ET Thursday, U.S. weekly jobless claims for the week ended August 4 and producer price index for July are set for release. Ahead of these data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback held steady against the euro, the pound and the yen, it retreated against the franc.
The greenback was worth 1.1593 against the euro, 1.2894 against the pound, 111.12 against the yen and 0.9926 against the franc as of 8:25 am ET.
