Ahead of these data, the greenback traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the greenback rose against the pound and the euro, it held steady against the yen and the franc.
The greenback was worth against the euro, 1.3206 against the pound, 112.30 against the yen and 0.9906 against the franc as of 8:25 am ET.
