France's inflation accelerated more than estimated in April, final data from the statistical office Insee showed Wednesday.

Consumer price inflation came in at 1.3 percent in April versus 1.1 percent in March, mainly reflecting higher services cost. The initial estimate was 1.2 percent.

Month-on-month, consumer prices gained only 0.3 percent after rising 0.8 percent in March. Monthly inflation was revised up from 0.2 percent.

The EU measure of harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, advanced 1.5 percent annually in April, after a 1.3 percent rise in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, the HICP moved up 0.4 percent following March's 0.9 percent increase. Compared to provisional estimate, both monthly and annual HICP figures were revised up by 0.1 points.
